ABOUT
I'm glad you'r here
When I was in kindergarten, I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up.
Most of the girls answered with things like hairdresser, nurse, or teacher.
I answered:
“A computer geek, just like my dad.”
I’m Solfrid, a human (I promise!) who's been dabbling in tech since the nineties, and I have a passion for empowering Women in Technology.
I’ve been the one folks call when they’re about ready to throw their computer out the window. You know that “no question is a stupid question” motto? It’s alive and kicking around here. I’m here to show you that tech can be friendly—even a bit fun.
I started my career programming one of the first solutions for selling insurance online in Norway, and since Y2K, I’ve worked in development, operations, and led projects building countless technologies and platforms for the web.
I’m also an enthusiastic Scout Leader, and a Certified Forest Bathing guide. And over the past years, I’ve combined my two favorite things:
I’ve created and delivered services focused on local, simple outdoor adventures through Internett.
And this made me super familiar with a range of platforms and integrated solutions for newsletters, websites, courses, and digital products—and I love it!
Remember: if the "web" traps you, I’ll set you free!
And YES — I walked the talk!
I went into IT, and after studying computer science, I've been a consultant, manager, advisor, and project lead.
I started out as a young Java developer, before I moved on to system operations, project management, strategy, and process leadership both in Norway and abroad.
I even spent some time at IBM’s headquarters in New York, developing strategies for e-learning and Universities. Oh, and I was the systems manager for the norwegian Livestock Registry (Husdyrkontrollen) which is basically the national registry but for cows.
In several roles, I took the lead on what I find really fun—replacing old core systems with modern solutions. Wich I've done both for Husdyrkontrollen and the Norwegian YMCA-YWCA scouts.
I love working with change processes, helping organizations and people transition to better solutions that actually work for those who use them.
And yes, I’ve programmed all the lightbulbs at home.
Every. Single. One. 💡
